BECAUSE YOU WANT PEOPLE TO STAY AWHILEMore than a website. A destination.
you do good work
You really oughta be the go-to everyone recommends. The right site:
Makes you the destination
Give people a reason to seek out your work, stick around, and remember where to find you.
Invites people to explore
Create more ways into your work, so curious visitors can follow what catches their attention.
Has room for all that you do
Bring your offers, ideas, content, products, or growing body of work together under one roof.
Puts your work on the map
Build a recognizable home for your work that people can discover, return to, and recommend.
BUT HERE'S WHERE WE LOSE PEOPLEYou’re treating your website like a detour, when it should be the destination.
We’ve all been there. Services evolve. Audiences shift over time. You’re busy and have a lot to do.
Eventually things stop working the way you want them to and before you know it, you’re hiding your website links and routing people to your instagram or LinkedIn instead of your site.
let's set the scene
Your website should be the kind of place people can tell their friends, “you should check it out.”

BEFORE YOU GET STARTEDA few good things you might want to know:
-
You’ll be most involved at the beginning and the end of the project. At the start, you’ll put your materials together, fill out a get-to-know-you questionnaire, and join me for a kick-off call. After that, most of the day-to-day work shifts to me.
Towards the end of your website design, we’ll meet again for a full-site review and one round of refinements. Outside of that, you’re not expected to manage the project or live in decision-making mode. You can relax a bit and know your website can take shape without taking over your schedule.

A Destination Website is designed for businesses with layered or evolving offers that need more than a simple introduction. These projects support brands that may be selling products, presenting multiple services or programs, or creating several ways for visitors to engage. The goal is a flexible, thoughtfully structured site where people can explore your work from different angles and easily find the path that fits them best.
If your main priority is a warm, professional online presence that introduces your work and encourages inquiry or client discovery, the Three-Week Website may be the better fit. That process is streamlined to deliver clear structure, strong copy, and expressive design within a focused timeline, making it ideal for relationship-based service businesses.
If you’re unsure which direction fits your business right now, you’re always welcome to reach out before booking. I’m happy to help you think it through.
-
Absolutely. Many Destination Website clients come in with existing branding or past website copy. If you have logos, colors, fonts, or visual preferences you want to carry forward, we’ll talk at kickoff about how those elements can be incorporated while still supporting the goals of your new site. And if anything needs light refinement along the way, the included brand foundations help fill gaps and keep everything feeling cohesive.
When it comes to website copy, I don’t typically plug existing text into a new site word-for-word. Destination Websites often involve new structure, multiple visitor pathways, or expanded offerings, which usually means the writing benefits from a fresh pass. I use your existing materials as context and inspiration, then shape language that works naturally with the design, the visitor journey, and where your business is headed next.
-
Yes, in the ways that matter most at the build stage. Every Destination Website is approached as a thoughtful small business website design project, which means your site is structured and written with strong on-page SEO foundations in place. That includes clear page titles, logical headings, organized site architecture, and content written to help search engines, AI tools, and real people quickly understand what you do and who you serve.
That said, SEO is something that grows over time. This process sets you up with a solid starting point, but it doesn’t include ongoing ranking strategies, blogging for search traffic, or continuous optimization. Think of it as putting the right structure in place from day one, so your future marketing, content, and visibility efforts have a strong foundation to build on.

After your website launches, you’ll have full access to your Squarespace site. I choose Squarespace because it’s designed to empower you to make simple, everyday updates on your own, like swapping photos or changing text as your business grows.
But if you’d rather have me manage your updates for you, or you want to expand your site to include new content, you’ll be able to come back to the Sept. Dept. It’s a clients-only corner of Septembering Design Co. where you can book custom, on-demand projects that sharpen your message, refresh your website, and keep you top of mind for the clients you want to reach. Think website updates, email marketing, content writing, seasonal campaigns, and sales pages.
