I work with small business owners in New England and beyond. Most of my clients care deeply about their craft and want a brand that reflects that.
In my portfolio, you’ll see a range of service providers and creative businesses with brands built on expertise, relationships, and good work.
-
I design on Squarespace. It’s a flexible platform that allows me the ability to create both simple websites and custom websites that use additional coding to expand on what Squarespace offers.
I find Squarespace to be the perfect fit for most small brands and independent businesses. You can read about some the deeper reasons why in this blog post.
If your website is hosted on another platform right now, I can guide you through a smooth transition to Squarespace so the technical side doesn’t have to feel so overwhelming.

Yes! Check out the September Department for smaller, flexible projects. Some website updates are available only for returning clients who have built their website with the studio, but other projects are open to anyone. If you’re not sure whether something’s the right fit, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to point you in the right direction.

Outside of selective coding support, I do not use AI tools in client work. But here’s the specific details you might be curious about:
-I don’t use AI tools to create any of the copywriting inside your project. I’m a trained copwriter with a MA in literature and use my own knowledge and training to create original work for your website.
-I don’t use AI tools to design website layouts or creative direction. I think of myself as a “words-first” designer, so the structure and pacing of a website is shaped by the messaging itself, not generated from a template or prompt.
-I don’t generate client brand assets (things like logos, icons, or patterns) from AI tools. My design style naturally leans toward a more human, hand-crafted aesthetic, so I prefer to draw or source material that reflects that personal touch.
- I do sometimes use AI-assisted coding tools while refining custom CSS or HTML for websites. But I personally review and test all final code before it is used in client projects.
- On my own website, I occasionally experiment with Adobe Firefly to create atmospheric mockup scenes with computers or other objects. This technique allows me to insert one of my own, hand-created designs into a realistic setting to showcase how it might look in context. That use is limited to my own studio marketing, not client work.
